battery not charging

HELP!!!!! my battery isnt charging. i know the battery is good because i have charged it several times and it holds a charg for long periods of time. after about 5 days the battery is dead again. i know the alternator was bad so i replaced it along with the voltage regulator. i was wondering if it could be the starter solenoid??????? just two days ago with the truck running i put a multimeter to the battery and it had a good charge. when i pressed on the gas it read that it was getting more juice as engine speed increased. any help would be appreciated.

battery not charging

Take the battery out of the truck & tote it to your local Advance A/P (or like kind parts chain store) & have it tested.

When the alternator last crapped out on my '78, it fried a 2 month old battery (got shorted). The battery may register it taking a charged at the correct voltage while running, but that does not mean it's holding the charge that will be needed when you go to start the truck.

Good luck.
