Well, I tried a little search and came up with four different examples.
One is ported w/t 1.94/1.6 valves, actually looks nice, no pressure drop listed.
The other three claimed to be stock and only one listed the pressure drop.
There was one that looks simillar to the data I found and shows it used a 10inH20 drop, its still higher than stock rated figures. If I punch in higher lift on that one, it actually hurts it...so I would reckon that ones not right.
The stock one showing 10inH20 is as follows:
Lift/int/exh
.1 51 27
.2 68 47
.3 79 64
.4 88 72
.5 96 76
.6 99 78
Oddly, stock cam vs 260 w/t 1.7 rockers...near identical.
Paw vs comp 268 vs crane 503901 all near identical.
This would have a person believe the paw cam/ crane 503901, might not be a bad choice, they'd idle smooth compared to the comp 268, on the other hand, if a person were looking for a little lope, in DD theory, they wouldn't give up any power. Benefit of the paw/mellings camshaft would be saving a few bucks. Benefit of the crane 503901, more real world potential, due to it being the most recent camshaft to hit the market, maybe theres some technology built into the powermax cam......maybe

Yeah i think you've all convinced me on the crane. Since it is the newest one to hit the market. Now since im going to stay with the stock rockers, any prefference on the brand of the lifters. DO I spend the money and get the crane matching ones or just get the PAW? Im not sure if Ive asked this before but is there a difference nin the crane powermax vs. the crane powermax truck? They seem to have the same figures? optikal illushun, you say its nice, what other mods do you have to make this such a good cam? Where do you see actual power? Thanks again everyone
so you have it from 1200-4500ish? Motorhead351 i wish you still had it but whatcha gonna do right? The only reason why I ask is bc they are different part numbers, and on the bottomw foot note it says that they might be the same but have a different grind. Also the one listed for the car as opposed to the truck on has all of the accesories on the right hand side of the page, but the truck one does not.
cant tell ya that much butt, dont have a tach. it seems to come off right at idle to WOT (i have the E4OD so it shifts at like 3400-3800...mines been tweaked w/ a shift kit).
If you buy a Crane cam you should get the Crane lifters. All cams and lifters are not created equal. The lobes of the cam are not flat and neither are the bottoms of the lifters. The two have to be designed to work together or the cam won't last long. FWIW, the lifters in the 300 and the small blocks are the same. You might call Crane and see if they have a specialty lifter meant for a 302 that would help you out any.
