removing smog pump

I have an 83' F-150 I-6, 4 speed, the smog pump is making noise like the bearings are ready the go out. It has 207,000 on it and i am thinking about just removing the whole smog system. what problems will i run into? anything i need to look for? it is still all complete.

It would mostly depend on if you have emmissions checks in your area. I don't know alot about I-6's , but I took all the smog stuff off my 85 F-150 351. I don't have any computerized stuff either, so I didn't have to change anything. Just make sure that you plug all the vacuum lines, exept to the cold air flapper deal in the air cleaner. I would save all the stuff too, incase you need to put it back on later. Again, i dont know alot about I-6's, but that is just the main idea.
