Ive heard about built in CB's in some older Fords.
Does anyone know what years or what makes it was in?
Did it come in the 70's pickups?
The reason is I was going through a box of stuff I bought at a auction and I found this CB with the Ford logo on it.
Its all on the handpiece which has a cord and a plug in.
Then I remembered reading about it somewhere.
No sure if it was here or somewhere else?
Any info appreciated.
Ive tried to post a couple pictures, however it has to be approved by a moderator, so im sure since its from another site the links will get sensored... eh Check page 12 of the ford truck accy catalog from the late 70's. Ebay is a great source for these.
My buddy had an F150 with the towing package and it had a factory CB in it and every thing else one could get. If I recall correctly it had something mounted behind the seat on the drivers side but I am not sure if that was for the CB or not but something tells me it was. This was well over 13 years ago.
It consisted of the all in one hand control. A wire harness. The main unit (a black box behind the seat) a special switching unit for the front speaker, a duplexer for the antena, and a special base loaded antena.
The unit was made by Motorola, worked OK with the stock antenae and very well with an aftermarket antenae
Squeeqer also said he had his in a 78 so they must have been available before 79?
yes I only have the handheld piece but maybe out there thees someone with the rest or a wrecked handpiece?
i have bought and sold 70's Ford pickups for 25 years and this is the first one ive seen.
It must be kinda rare?
