My glow plug relay is bad.
I ordered a replacement one F81Z12B533AC from powerstrokeshop.com and the one they sent me is different from the original.
The one they sent me is shorter and the mounting plate is different. The original one has mounting holes directly across from each other, whereas the new one has a mounting bracket where the holes make up a 90 degree angle and won't fit in the mounting bracket. My question is, can I use this and how would I mount it. I have a 2000 Excursion with a 7.3.
The GPR on my 2000 F350 mounting studs were arranged on a 90* angle. Maybe I'm supid, but are you sure you aren't confusing the AIH realy with the GPR relay? The AIH is taller and in front of the GPR.
There is only one relay in my Excursion.
Sits to the left of the fuel filter housing.
Behind the glow plug relay, is the glow plug controller.
Sounds like there were a few different types of glow plug relay configuraitons in 2000......
I think only the California emissions trucks have glow plug controllers.
My AIH relay is taller than the gpr, and sits behind and to the left of the fuel filter, and just behind it is the glow plug relay.
as wierd as it sounds i think all "California emission" trucks and "all" excursions have the GP controller....i am pretty sure i remember reading that.

That would make sense, because I can only find one diesel engine listed for a 2000 excursion.
I still need to figure out if I can use this glow plug relay, and why it looks different from the original one. I guess I could try it, whats the worse that can happen.....
