I saw that sell too. Unbelievable price for an immitation HD Excursion which was never done by Ford. I wonder if rossgn bought it since he started this thread? Maybe more to this HD Excursion story?
Sure made that '69 Vette with the 4 cam motor look cheap at $30,000. And, what about that mint 66 caddy for $9,000?
Smile, guys, doesn't that mean all our Excursions are worth $80K now if we add a few gold badges and an orange stripe? More money than sense. The B-J action seems to be playing real loose with the discriptions this year, at least from the way the cars are being labled on the Speed broadcast.
That whole B-J (intentional) auction is getting ridiculous. As an older Mopar fan, it amazes me to see that people actually believe these prices are real.
The amazing thing for me was the Hemi '67 GTX that brought $112,000. It started life as a 440 powered car (which is still cool) and someone put a Hemi in it. As nice as it is...it's still a fake. Yet, the largely original '68 Hemi GTX only brought $57,000.
you should go to f650pickups.com they have an excursion styled f650 styled suv!!
go to vegas you can ride in one! they have them all over the strip, the first time i was out there and saw it i thought i had drank WAY to much! i had ! keep telling my buddy's look at the huge excursion. first thing i did when i got home and recovered was to search for it on the net http://www.f650pickups.com/indexb.html http://www.f650pickups.com/page0009d.html

As another mopar muscle car guy, in general these people are buying shine and gloss instead of originality and rarity. Unfortunately, these cars are so over restored, how can you take them out on the road? However, that Ex that sold sure didn't look all that special.
Any idea why someone paid so much? Who bought it? What is so special about it?
Maybe the new owner is hardley davison fanatic (sp) that have that "I got to have that" attitude It didn't even have the hardley davison black-out headlamps. To tell you the truth, from what I saw on TV, it really wasn't all that neat." The bidding did start to slow down with the two bidders around 70,000.00
But what can I say, its alot better then the one I have which is a 2000 Excursion Limited
I know this thread is old but I though this might be interesting;
You guys remember the Ex that was presented to OCC by Funk Master flex….Well it is on sale on EBay (item number 4624975643)…have a look
The truck is worth the buy it now price by itself. If I was in the market to buy a X, I would have simply bought it. It is one of the most famous X's out there and how many guys have more money between the truck and the add ons than what they are asking? It was a steal! Too bad someone didn't get it, maybe someone who knows better will when it is relisted. Not that money grows on trees, but give me a break. What would it cost to build this? Custom paint, wheels, sound... this has more than the Harley-Davidson X had, and at least it has large rims, a HD/Ford trademark.
did you look at the pics close. the thing is beat up. almost every panel and the bumpers are dented and scratched. NOT WORTH IT..................the custom paint/ junk it!! it needs too much body work. so that fancy paint job has to be redone anyway.
I had to select "more pics" to all of the damage. What a shame, it would cost a ton to fix up the paint and whatever else was ruined. From the looks of it I'm sure there is a lot more that needs repair.
