I have a 92 f150 4x4 5.0 5 speed, ! I just bought the truck, and well last week we had got some snow so i locked my hubs in screwed around trying to get it in to 4 h range (linkage is ****ed up) so finally got it in worked excellent drove around for about an hour worked aesome. Then i put it back in 2hi and never used it for a few days tried it today and i cant get it into 4 hi at all, Had it in for a bit by pressing hard on the 4x4 shifter but soon as u take ur hand of it just pops out! 4 low and neutral and 2hi all work perfect! Just no 4hi, SO today i took of the 4x4 linkage and cleaned it all up good and lubed and greased the **** out of it works really good now. Never put it back on yet to see if it will make a difference, i really dont think it is. I know the linkages are knowing to go but this one is fine now!
So i got under it after i took the linkage of and pushed the rod goin to the transfer case by hand and put it all the way back towards the bacl of the truck in 2hi pulle it a head one snap ( click) and got tin still only in 2 wheel drive!
WHat is my next step here?? Did anyone else ever have this problem?? Need new transfer case??? ( ihope not) The rear seal on the transfer case is leaking a bit maby its low on fluid i never checked it yet to see But I still dont think that is what is goin on.
Any help be great Thanks alot i wan ta get my monster truck going again!!

I am thinking linkage adjustment here because the same "dog" that engages the front drive shaft for 4lo is used for 4hi. Check the dentents positions on the Tcase ****er manually when linkage disconnected and then confirm that it is in proper position when it is selected from shifter in the truck.
Ok i have the linkage of and slid under the truck selected by hand 2 hi then clicked it one spot a haed wich should be 4hi and whne i move im still only spinning 2 rear wheels yes 4 low works perfect!! Any ideas???
Welli took my transfer case out today and when i drained it there was less than 1 liter of fluid in it!! It looked realy thin looking to and when we pulled out the yoke it was like almost cream coloured on it redish/creamish looking!!
Anywyas whne its out i can manually (by hand ) click it in to 4 low and it will spin the drive shaft part for the front wheels and whne its in 4 hi dont spin that and makes kind of a winding noise!! MAby teeth stripped low fluid burnt some thing out?? Any ideas what might be wrong?? Oh ya its stamped on the side Borg Warren if that means anything lol!!
