302 is very hard starting

i have a hell of a time getting my 302 to turn over and i always have to put a charger on it.it has a brand new red top battery,i dont understand why .

Check the condition of your battery cables. both the neg and pos cables could be old and need replacing. your starter may also be bad. the timing could be something but that wouldnt cause your battery to drain.
