flexplate/starter Q's
first off, i just picked up an 84 f-150. it's the 2wd version w/ the 351w and a auto tranny. the guy i bought it from sold it because he said the flywheel was out of it and he didn't want to mess with it. it's onlt been setting for a few months tops. he says it ran perfect other than the bad flywheel, and just progressively got worse until it wouldn't start. now for the questions.
with a fully charged battery, when key'd to start. all i get is a strong buzzing noise. not like the starter is just spinning free, more like it's jammed up. does that sound like a starter issue or maybe the flexplate has lost a tooth that is jammed up in the starter gear? also, i believe it takes the 164 tooth 28oz flexplate. but i'm not even sure if it has a c4 or c6 tranny, or if that even matters.
anyone with any info on this truck, or a solution to my questions... your input would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

is there a specific part number i need? someone told me there is also a 164 tooth 28 oz fleplate for an AOD. that sometimes the part numbers get crossed, and the AOD flexplate won't allow the torque converter to bolt properly. any help here would be appreciated.
thanks.
