Im guessing your racing class 7 to have the need to stay under 4.5L. A lot of rangers in that class get... dare I say....a GM 4.3L. You can get about 300-325 HP out of one of those with the previously mentioned mods. You could also post your question in the forum on www.race-dezert.com, the folks over there deal with that stuff all the time.
yea we kind of thought about a 4.3 but i think if you use a ford truck it hast to ha a ford motor but we might be on to some thing. we found a web sught that make ssome pretty extrem 4.2s so were gonna look into that because as i am sure we all agree chevy is crap
