Does the factory/dealer assure that the wheels are balanced and properly aligned prior to delivery? A "friend" just took delivery and after approx. 500 miles he was told by dealer service it needed an alignement and that he must have hit something.
Somethings need to be adjusted on vehicles sometimes, no matter what brand. Keep in mind these cars can sit in a dealship parking lot/showroom for months or even over a year. They have to be adjusted and tweeked as you buy them as just a normal part of breaking it in. Our Expedition has one of those Air Sensing systems in the tires, and the light came on and so we took it to the local shop and they said that the air pressure tends to decrease over time while sitting in parking lots for extended periods of time, so they refilled the tires to the proper PSI. No problems since then.
They do the best they can at the factory. Sometimes, the vehicle has to be used for a while before the suspension settles properly. I know that at Bowling Green where the Vette's are built, the cars are driven over speed bumps before the alignment is done to help settle the suspension. (And yes, my Ford F350 sat proudly in the non-GM lot at the far end of the parking lot!)

Anybody who trades in an F350 for a GM product is.......not cool in my book.
We bought our 2nd f-150 (2004 model) at a Nissan Dealership. Dont have it anymore - too many miles from 1st owner plus additional 30,000 miles from us. Traded it in for new 2005 during family plan.

Have no fear! I think you missunderstood my message. I was taking a tour of the Bowling Green facility to see how Vette's are built. Manufacturing facilities are always interesting, and this one is no exception!! I have a new 06 F350 (see signature) and I would not trade it for anything. (It would be hard to pull a 8K Travel Trailer with a Vette, even if they are cool cars! I love Ford GT's too, but they're a little hard on the budget.)
If GM had the better product and thier quality was superior to Ford's, I would have bought it no matter how much I love Fords. I'd be a fool not to at these prices.
With respect to the parking, At this GM facility, the ask that non-GM vehicles to park farther away from the entrance as thier little tweak at non-GM owners.
Some of my GM truck friends have drooled over my V10 F350 since I bought it this summer. It's a winner and they wish they had one too!
Have a good one!

Ford provides a free alignment the first 12,000 miles.
Correct, Ford dealer will provide one free alignment and one free tire balancing within the first 12,000 miles. I had the tires rebalanced on my 2004 Ranger with about 5,000 miles on the truck because I had some vibration at interstate speeds. Now its not bad till you run it up over 80 mph which I do very rarely.
