ignighting her fire
okay i was planning on putting a MSD 6A ignition on my 87 2.9 ranger. Has anyone done this before? i using my truck as a street truck so i won't be using the off road application provided by MSD. I have already installed platnium sparks, performance cap and rotor and a new MSD distributer coil. is there any specail harness needed? Will i need to buy a tack corrector or not ?

The stock ignition system is already a high energy system and can handle spark up thru 7000 rpms. I've talked to many who have tried it and said that they had absolutly no HP or fuel milage gains.

haha well i always carry credit so my walet is allways the same. though performance is a want but it would look nice in show, which i am starting to float back too. Though i wouldn't dish out the 200 bones for it when i can get it for 50 bucks off ebay.

Well, if you have $50 and the time and effort to install such a system with no gain except for bling under the hood of an 87 ranger, then go for it.
You will need an adapter harness for the wiring. They sell these at most auto part stores that sell MSD products.
