Left today at a light in a three lane, a friend of mine with a 04 Duramax, my 00 PSD, and another 02 PSD. Duramax and 02 PSD stock, mine running 60 predator, stock everything else. Duramax ate me up. Pulled out and the shift from first to second got me to the doors, but he pulled out and left me by 8 trucklengths. The 02 I left him after the first shift, he stayed back about one trucklength. Ran the mile, and I didnt have nothing for that jewel. He is the second owner, the first was another friend that had it.

Am I the only one who thinks it's hilarious to hear stories of Heavy trucks racing?
I'll bet I could beat you in my 1600cc Acura.
Also, it's certainly possible that the guy who beat you has some mods. Demographicaly speaking, the people who race thier trucks are the smae people who mod them..
Just a thought.
go to the 85hp tune on your predator and disconnect the wastegate actuator... he'll still beat you, but only by 3 or 4 truck lengths at most... and i don't quite believe that he's stock... i've seen plenty of duramax diesels take off... i don't think they are any faster than my truck... i have not however run against any of them so i can't say for sure, and i am running a few more mods than you have... lol..!

i don't know bud... i've seen some guys with trucks like mine that eat 1600cc's for breakfast..!
The duramax is MUCH faster empty than 99 [ercent of the strokers out there. But hook up to some real weight and youll see that suddenly things are exactly equal.....
The chevy uses mostly aluminum parts. Heads and such.... Ever noticed though how resale on those seem to be low? Duramax 4x4 dually here in my area sells for about 18000 woth 80 thousand miles. Same equipment ford stroker, 24 or 25 thousand. What gives?

all i will say is that i have not heard of any diesel other than a PSD running for 500k plus... i'm sure that there are some out there... but i have heard of many PSD's running this long...
i hate to say it but even with your 60 hp tune he has more hp than you do. thas why you need a flip chip. some guy pulls up next to you in a duramax, you flip it into your "race" program and say BYE BYE...
ps. i got my hat handed to me buy a hopped 6.0 a few days ago...

FWIW, I walked away from some kid in an eclipse. I did get the jump on him at the launch, which gave me time to get the turbo spooled up. After that, I led him up to about 65, which was as fast as I wanted to race in a 45 zone...
