Fuel Pump & ECC Relay
Question. I was looking at some of the threads in regards to cold start or hard start when car is warm.
Everyonce in awhile I have the issue where the car starts up fine after sitting overnight and then I drive to work and let sit for 4 hours or so until lunch time and when I try to start it, it may crank 1-2 seconds before starting ( when originally it fires right up when I turn the key ).
I have 103,000 miles, so maybe age has something to do with. I did have a New Fuel Pump from the dealer replaced a couple of months ago, because at that time it was hard starting all the time, especially after it would sit all night. After I got the new Fuel Pump at the Ford Dealer I had no problems until about a week ago when it started to take 1-2 seconds to start.
If I replace the Fuel Pump Relay or the ECC Relay, will that help? Is that easy to change? What does either of those items do?
They would be readily available at auto parts stores.
I don't think theyre the problem though....if they were defective or not making a good electrical connection, you'd have a no-start situation, not start after 2 seconds.
There have been some posts, including mine, referring to a once in a great while "cranks fine - no start" situation, followed by an instart start five minutes later.
Different people have replaced relays, moved wires at connections, all to varying success.
