1993 Clutch Replacement
#16
Oh I forgot. The reason I got the slave at Napa is that I've also gotten the master there and it was the same exact part, made in France, that Ford had and it's 1/2 the price with a lifetime warranty. Have already brought it back 2 more times for new ones. On the slave, there was a slight change in the appearance of the T/O bearing but it looks to be just a design change from what I had a few years back from Ford. I think it was still from France so same stuff as Ford.

I got a new flywheel too, I did not have to worry about getting the pilot bearing out. AS you should at least turn the flywheel when you are doing the clutch, getting the old one out would not be much of a problem.
I got the Slave Cylinder at O'Riellys for $55.00 + tax. Comes with a lifetime warranty.

I don't like my "made in China" clutch. I think it's RPM's are on the metric system or something. I get a slight clutch chatter when releasing. I can release the clutch without hitting th gas at all and not stall. The old clutch did this as smooth a silk. This one gives me a little vibration. Makes no sense. Clutch and flywheel are both new, both from China. What a PITA if I have to pul this tranny again. In the old days, it was pretty easy pulling the ole top loader 4 speed. Now I have a transfer case, 2 drive shafts and an exhaust sytem in the way. Geeze Louise!
