Hello, I have a few problems with my 97' Explorer..Maybe somebody can help me with it, when i start it to warm it up, i can here a clicking-like sound under the hood, and right after it makes that noise, the idle changes.What could it possibly be? Had it in the shop on the 6th of this month, they said everything checked out great,But i know differently. Second problem...Sometimes I can feel a vibration on the gas petal and in the steering wheel, the front end makes a noise when i feel the vibration, something like a humming noise.I was told it was a wheel that needed to be balanced...So I took it to Big-O and had both front tires balanced, and it is still doing it. Any thoughts of what this could be? Third problem (thinking i shouldnt have baught this truck)When th kids are in the back seat, and one of them try to open the rear left door before it is unlocked, the lock stick for a few days,I'v tried to use the keyless entry key-pad on the door, and it still doesnt unlock it, tried the keyless entry keychain and still nothing, you can see the lock tries to come up but it seems like its getting stuck somewhere inside the door.


Please Help me if you can
It really worries me with
Kids in the truck.

well the 1st problem is the a/c cycling ...the clutch is engaging and disengaging...you probably need a recharge.....#2 is possibly an out of round rotor or the abs sensor on that that axle side(relace abs sensor and rotor and pads)...#3 I am not sure if you have a problem with the plasto-nylon clips that hold rods on the latch/actuator/handle assemblies......these are my opines from the little you have told us...

 

1st Prob: A/C cycling like ilbgmike said.
2nd Prob: Possibly an out of round rotor or a bad wheel bearing assembly.
3rd Prob: Sounds like maybe your lock selanoid isn't working or you have a bent rod or a broken rod clip.
