There was an ad in my local paper (Bismarck, ND) for job positions. I called the number and talked to someone who told me to send $120 to Duluth, Georgia to get the study materials to prepare for the exam. Is this for real? It just sounds a little fishy to me.
Also, can those of you who work for the USPS give me any info on what it's like? If there are positions available locally, I'd like to try and get a new job. The wages sound better than what I'm gettin' now.
Its a scam. You dont have to pay to find any Fed jobs, USPS included. Take a look at www.usajobs.com. You can find all the federal gov't jobs listed here. By the way, you can buy a book with practice exams in it from any book store. I took the postal exam 8 years ago. I bought a book for around $15 from Border Books. I got a really good score, but I decided to work for a utility instead.

Most of those places that want you to send them cash for study materials are scams. And to boot if you ask them any more questions, its always the info is in the study material, yeah right!
