Hello,
This is my first post to this site. I hope someone can help me. I have a 98 Ranger with a 3.0 L engine, 2wd. My Door ajar light is staying on when someone uses the passenger side door. Also the dome light stays on. Is there a fuse or relay I can replace to fix this problem?
Thanks,
Dave

This is a very common problem; no need to replace anything. There's a thread about it in the Tech. sticky at the top of the Ranger forum, but all you need to do is spray some WD-40 on the latch assembly in the door (may as well do both) and you should be good to go.
Respray every time you change the oil. jorn112deere hit it perfectly, the latch just sticks. Dumb design *rolls eyes*. Spray some WD-40 in the latch, open and close door three or four times, should fix it. Do passenger for good measure, relube with oil.

Gentlemen......thank you very much. I had asked around and my local shop that I trust and take the truck to did not know how to fix it and suggested taking it to the dealer for diagnostics. I will forward this much appreciated information to them, so they can use it in the future.
Thanks again,
Dave
