Replacing my rear spring pads

I have finally figured out my axlehop/wrap problem on my 79 f-250, even though i have 9 leaf thick springs with only a 2 inch block, i have severe axle wrap...its because the front of my rear spring pads has some how bent down to allow the axle to twist under the block, i was looking on my friends truck with some kind of dodge dana 60, his spring perches are solid, look much stronger and have a much flatter surface, i was wondering if anyone in here knew where i could locate some good spring perches, and what kind of place would weld them on for me, im tired of replacing u joints from the axle wrap that should not be there

You should be able to get a machine shop to make you a set of solid pads. It's pretty easy to do,use a solid piece of metal and bore a hole in it the size of the tube on the rear end then cut in half and make some angled cuts on the end and your done.Oh yea,you need to drill a hole for the spring tie bolt. You will probably have to take the rear end out of the truck to get them welded on.All you need to do this is two jack stands an angle finder and a level. With the lift you have you may want to change the angle while your doing it.
