Yesterday I cranked up and headed out the drive. When I accelerated she started running rough and sounded funny. after I nursed her up to speed, I noticed a significant difference in sound as she starting running a little better. I drove about 20 miles and still had the same problem each time I had to stop and start going again.
When I got ready to come home again, the start up was a little worse, with blue smoke and skipping. Same deal with having to nurse her up to speed and the exhaust noise getting louder when she seamed to get more power.
When I got home the exhaust smell was horrible. Smelled like coal burning. Also noticed a wire burning smell.
This morning I checked some things out and noticed the rubber boot over the GPR positive cable was burnt. I tried to crank up to no avail, and the boot was VERY hot to touch afterwards. No burnt smell under the oil fill cap though.
Could this be a comination of problems, or just a bad GPR? 170,000 miles and this is the very first problem I've had.
