C6 build questions

I have two c6 transmissions I am trying to make into one good one. One is a very new slip-yoke 14 1/4" tailshaft style, the other is a flanged fixed yoke. I am putting the completed tranny into a 77 highboy, which already has a flanged fixed yoke in it that's dead to the world. My question is, both cases are big block, but the fixed yoke case has a bunch of ribbing on the top, squares cast into the inside of the bell, and S-91 cast into the top, while the slip yoke case has a smooth bell and S-99 cast into it. The case in the truck has squares and ribs cast in, but I don't know the number off the top. None of these have the factory tag on them, so I don't know exactly what they are from. Which would be the best main case to use?

The ribbed case would be newer and I think slightly stronger.

Make sure the case you use has the bolt holes for the neutral/reverse switch if you need them, some cases don't have them.

Turns out, the fixed-flange transmission was nearly new, maybe 100 miles on it. Slapped it back together, adjusted the band and checked endplay, and called it good to go. One question I still have is what would have had the flange type output in the first place? The c6 in the truck used to have a very built 429 in front of it, I would assume it was from the same vehicle. Also, the trans I went through had a tag on the valve body, looked factory, that just said "HP" on it. Anybody know what that's about?
