Anyone else have one or more 12V power outlets cease to function? I have at least two (2): the shuttered 12V outlet in the dash, above the cigarette lighter outlet, and the one in the rear of the center console, near the rear sound system controls. Do each of these have separate fusible links?
I have the electrical manual for the 2003 trucks, and it shows 3 separate fuses for the 3 power points in the Excursion. In the 03's, all 3 are located in the under-dash fuse box--yours may be different. Look in your owner's manual under fuses. There should be a picture of the fuse block with the circuits protected by each fuse.
Thanks, Ron. I actually have 5 power points: the three mentioned in the original post and one in the armrest at the third row seat, drivers side, and another at the rear just inside the dutch door on the passenger side. I have the Chilton's manual for my truck; I'll take a look at the wiring diagram and see if it indicates separate inline fuses for those circuits.

The cigarrette lighter on mine is the only one that doesn't work... There's so many other 12V taps, I haven't worried about it.
I noticed that the shuttered outlet did not always work with all accessories. I replaced it with a regualr cig lighter..and everthing works in it now.
If you look inside the power points versus the cig lighter, you will see they are different and many accessories (GPS, detectors) do not work correctly in pwoer points, but work find in cig lighters.
Matt - I wonder if it's a contact issue. The power points are designed differently from the cigarette lighter outlets - I'll have to examine the differences and figure out what's the deal. Thanks for the input!
