Cold mornings starting my truck and letting it warm up for about ten minutes but when I pull off it seams like it doesn't want to shift, rpm's go up to 3500 before it shifts then I have to let off the throttle before it shifts, sometimes even if it warmed up the rpms climb before it will shift, then bang it shifts hard…does this make sense?
ok i took a stabe at adjusting the little vaccum thingy on the side of the injector pump, think that when i changed the injectors a month ago maybe my big *** moved something, well after making the adjustment it shifts smooth as silk, now what was it that i adjusted? now if i could just get those damn rockers from chattering....
Had the same problem as you, did the ip and injectors, after that she shifted funny could rev her all the way or close to the govener let off the throtle, and shift hard, only in first tho, second and third where a lil wierd but would shift, Problem Vacuum switch on ip, you must replace the vacuum switch when u do the ip and injectors, this is pretty much the timing for for tranny shifting, i put a new vacuum switch on the pump and adjusted the modulator on the tranny, she shifted like a dream after that. I bet thats your problem try it, the switch was $65 bucks if i recall.
