The rim size is irrelavent the tires are still going to be 35 or 36 depending on which one you choose. I'm not really familiar with the 05-06 but I have heard you can squeeze a larger tire under there when compared to a 04 or below.
That being said...don't take my word as gospel, but I think 05-06's you can get a 35 on stock suspension. Hopefully someone can come along and confirm or deny...cause I'm not real sure.
tire size is not the only factor in making them fit...you will also have to consider rim width and offset.....I have been told that a 35 will fit with a levelling kit, 9.5" wheel with a 4 1/2ish offset.....But I would think they would rub if the wheel was locked and the suspension was working....in my opinion a bigger wheel looks much better with a little lift...it gives an uncramped look in your wheel wells....I'm running 37/13.50-17 with a 9.75 wheel on a 6 inch lift and have had no problem..just my two cents.....
About how much lift is needed to be able to have either 20's or 22's rims with 35's or 36's in tires and still ride comfortable?
There is nothing you can do to make it "comfortable". Sidewall is a significant factor in "comfort" and you lose that when you go with taller wheels, and there is *nothing* you can do about that. Comfort of course is subjective, so maybe you won't care.
If you check my gallery, that's 35's on 20's with a 6" lift. In retrospect, three words don't enter into that combination- "comfort" and "gas mileage."
I was reading on the forum earliear and read something about a 4.5" inch lift. It had a 5" block in the back and said that there wasn 't much difference in the ride from the factory and with that lift.
