96 Explorer Guage Swap

96 Explorer Guage Swap
Hey All,
I have a 96 Explorer XLT that has a broken speedo cluster. I am thinking about buying a used one off Ebay that is from a newer model(ie: 2000-2003). Does anyone know how compatible these culsters are and If I it is a simple swap to change from a 96 to 2000 cluster (plug in and go). Mine has the tach and looks identicle to the newer ones, but I am not sure if the plugs and electroniccs are the same.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
