Dana 44 or 60 in the frount will make a diffants as well. I don't know it just depends on how bad you want it. I got my 73 crew cab 2wd off ebay for 365.00 with lots of rust.
It's really really hard to say. It depends where you live and how rare the trucks are there, how much you think it's worth and how much the other guy thinks its worth. If it's a good solid, running, everything works and has decent paint truck, it's probably worth several thousand.. like 4k or something? I've seen them advertised for $15000 but that would be immaculate. I paid $900 for mine but it was pretty dented and nothing but the drivetrain worked
late 70's f250 crew-cabs sometimes came with the highly sought after front dana 60. Where I live, just the dana 60 front would go for 800 to 1000 dollars.
I have three crew cabs one 77 2wd short bed that I have $600 in and it has a lot of rust, a 78 F-350 dual wheel two wheel drive with no rust and 60,000 mile for $2500, and 78 F-350 number two dual rear again for $2000 with a little rust but not bad and a flat bed. I could of paid too much but they were what I wanted and I don't mind paying for something I want, the good thing about the trucks two were within 20 miles and the other was 70 miles so I have no shipping.
Well.....I finally got to see it with out any snow on it today. It is not as cherry as I thought. However the interior and drive train are better than I figured. We will see what kind of price he comes up with in a couple of days.
I paid $2500 for mine with rusted out drip rails,non-running 400, rough body and so on. Found a donor for a roof, paint/body, 4 in lift, 36 in Super Swampers. People that I don't know honk and wave. Strangers want to talk truck with you at the gas station. (I spend lots of time there, my second home)
