welding truck frames
i was wondering if welding and boxing a truck frame poses any problems with heat distortion to the frame. i had several areas of rot along the frame rails and i i had to first cut it out with a torch and now im reinforcing/bolting/welding/boxing everything BEFORE i prime the frame. should i be concerned with frame integrity after all this painstaking work???? thanks!

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 18-Jan-02 AT 01:21 AM (EST)]You should always avoid welding on the frame, because it does soften the temper so to speak, but sometimes you can't avoid it. If you are boxing in your entire frame it doesn't matter, if you are only boxing in certain sections you could have stress problems down the road.
