capacity depends on trans., radiator option and air conditioning option also.

range is 13 qts. fo standard trans. no air to 15.6 gts. for standard trans. or automatic, air, and super cooling

RCDan, that wasn't meant to be sarcastic. I was just saying "there it is,", now I know what the difference is. I think I actually bought one of them for my truck. When I went to buy a new tstat the parts guy asked me if I wanted the better one that wouldn't get stuck in the closed position. I said yes since that seemed like the right thing to do. I bet I bought a performance one not even knowing it.

I have an autometer temp gauge, motorcraft tstat, and edelbrock high flow water pump in my 393. The tstat is a "192-195" degree version that is original from the old 302. I reused it because the nice motorcraft ones lock into the tstat housing vs generic parts store ones that don't. It makes it a lot easier to install. Anyways, the temp will go up to about 196-197 and then you'll see the tstat open and it'll drop a few degrees. It doesn't go out of 191-197 degree range.

Just thought I'd throw that out there.
