my truck never had one since I've owned it and I couldn't tell from looking in the junk yards, but what are the 2 square cut outs for...? the one in the middle is for the striker .... I don't know what the other two are for... I also don't know what the 2 sets of holes are for in front of the cut outs .....
Well, I think the two small ones and the big square on the left side is where you mount the emergency flashers switch. It looks like you could mount it on either side. I hope someone else can answer better.
My 68 had the flasher on the right side, the big holes are for the field mice to get at the candy you leave in your glove box!
haha....I saw one in the junkyard that was a rat nest complete with snail shells.....
I guess this is nothing to lose sleep over ... I thought maybe there was a light or something in the rangers or something....
not sure by what you guys mean by flasher switch ... I have a 71 and the flasher switch is next to the cig lighter ... I'll keep an eye out the next time I'm at the yard and find some more trucks..
Trucks with a manual choke had the flasher switch in the glove box, with automatic choke the switch was next to the lighter, since the pull-**** wasn't there.
I believe they made it to fit different options and one hole was for emerg. flasher and the other glove box light option this one also had a switch in dash under glove box door so when it was open light came on.
