I called the international dealer today in search of a fuel pump for my 97 psd. I was told that their pump for the T440 would not fit on a powerstroke because on a powerstroke the fuel pump is mounted on the side. Is this true? I thought it was right on top of the valley behind the fuel filter canister. Any insights??

walking into ih telling them you have a psd will get you NO where.......
you need to be armed with the part #. they wont like to help you if they know its a psd. all they need to know is T444E.
a 97 fuel pump is on top of the engine in the valley so take 1997f-350's advice and go with the part number. heavy duty truck parts counters are much different than napa or autozone.
I got some prices for the pump and from the International dealer it is 142 dollars, from Napa it is $97, and from autozone it is $80. Why the difference in price?? Is one better than the other or are they all the same pump?? Are the Napa and Autozone rebuilt pumps?
if it were me i would go with powerstrokeshop.com
ford parts for cheap its 111.00. for the price of the napa/autozone i would guess rebuilt if they can be or its not as good of quality and not oem.
dont forget the banjo gaskets.

I bought one from advance auto and it was stamped the same as the one I pulled out. Both carter pumps. As for being rebuilt there was no core so it must be new.
