I know i have power windows and locks in my 79' f250. They are basically an adapter that fits right onto the manual crank spindle. I don't see why they wouldn't work on your 79'.

Check out this post, https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...power+windows. Custom73 has put power windows in his truck using stock part's from a 1986 F-150 truck. Sounds like the way to go to me. Didn't cost much either! -Ed
mine was stock but i'm sure you could pull one off of a 79' or so with the same set up it would be no problem converting it. Like i said, it is just a "ring" that fits over the spindle that the handle goes onto.

Thanks, I'm real pleased with the way it turned out. I looked into all the options I could find, and decided to make my own. But the idea wasn't mine, user Hawkrod did this to his pickup and walked me through doing it to mine - wish I could take credit for thinking up that one...
Power windows first became a option in '84 or '85 on the F series pickups/Broncos. The aftermarket kits (like country F150) usually have gears and belts and I was afraid they wouldn't last long, or would be hard to find parts for in a couple years. The best aftermarket option I found was Electric-Life. They cost over $200 but you get a new regulator with motor, it's all metal and looks to be a good solid unit. But I had parts available so decided to use used factory parts. I'm real pleased with the way they work, and I can get parts at any auto parts store.
