A friend of mine (mechanic) is going to help me replace the intake manifold gaskets on my 01 Sport Trac - I have the dreaded poor idle at cold temps.
I went to Napa and asked for a set of upper and lower intake gaskets and they gave me a set what look to be 6 O-rings, is this all there is? What's the upper and lower all about? Guess I was thinking there'd be something else. Is this all that I need?
I would go to your Ford dealer and get the parts from them. They have been changed up since the originals. Hopefully the parts from NAPA are improved like the Ford ones but they may not be.
The upper uses 2 3-hole O-ring gaskets, the lower uses 6 individual ones.
No there are 6 ports. The intake manifold is 2 pieces. There are the 2 3-hole gaskets where the top part attaches to the bottom part and 6 individual ones where the bottom part attaches to the cylinder heads.
