I was wondering if anyone could help me. Im looking for a set of the over the top bed rails that I see on Rangers. They are used (not only too look cool) to make the box of the bed deeper.
The ones Im looking for are made of what looks like plastic, and are either black or dark grey. I called my local Ford dealer and they told me that it's strictly a aftermarket item. I called two truck part dealers and they told me they dont deal with them, but yet I see Rangers on the road everyday with them!!!
I checked E Bay and I found some dude in Canada selling a scratched up pair with half the mounting hardware missing. Other then that, all I can find are the chrome rails that I dont want. Help!
If anybody knows of any shops in the Detroit/southeast Michigan area that would be best, as Im poor and I really dont want to pay shipping if ordered by mail.
I have the chrome ones. I like them. But anyways lol.
Try a boneyard, surely SOMEONE had to have had them and been in a wreck. I would assume they are durable, mine hold three or four people with no trouble.
I have a pair that I took off my 2002 Ranger Edge Super Cab when I bought a cap. They have been sitting in my garage for nearly 4 years. They are charcoal in color.
What are they worth to you? Maybe we can work something out.
I live in Connecticut.
I think the Ranger Edge's came with them standard from the factory. They are pretty prominent, so those are probably the ones you are noticing. The aftermarket ones don't usually make the bed any deeper, I don't think, they just protect the paint from scratches loading and unloading.
A friend of mine bought a set at a local truck accessory shop, I'd look in the yellow pages for one in your area. The kind of place that sells tonneau covers, toolboxes, bedliners, etc.
Some of th eedges came with the taller plastic ones. I have an 03 that did not come with them, my dad has an 02 edge that did come with them. I looked into getting them but the stealership wanted like $400 or somehting crazy like that for them. I just went with some Wade brand covers for my rails, work and look good!
Ive got a '04 Ranger brochure from the dealer and says the chrome rails are for sale in the bright appearance package. The plastic ones Im talking about came on the Edge models? Maybe if I call the dealer back and tell him this he can give me more info how to get them.
