My 92 Ranger 2.3L 5 speed trans 180,000K for the second year with the onset of sub freezing temps, will start fine go through fast idle sequence with no problems but after 5-1o miles will start to run very rough and loose power. I can't tell if it running rich or fuel starved. or if it is electrical. Exaust smells funny. 2 Ford garages were no help, said their new machines cant pick up "old codes" and their old analysers are broke. Replaced plugs, even tried two sets of plug wires. When temps warmed in the spring, truck ran fine. Truck does use some oil, no smoke showing, even passed emissions (in Sept.) When it starts to run bad I feel a click through gas pedel, and if I let off the gas, sometimes it will run ok temporarily. When I shut her down, and the engine is cool starts great when cold until it is run for 5-10 miles. Thanks in advance, just new to the forum, hope someone has an idea.

I'll have to see if autozone can pull the codes, I tried to down load file you suggested, my computer wont let me open it. I'll be back when I can get the codes. Thanks for your interest.
