New to me Bronco

I have a 88 Bronco 302 EOD that I'm getting ready to retire because I'm traveling from Detroit to Dallas to pick up another 88 302 Manual. I've been looking to "rent" a car hauler to bring it back behind a 2001 Ram 1ton diesel duelly truck, but it seems noone has a trailer that will handle the Bronco's weight. Anyone out there have any ideas wehre I could look to find a trailer to rent for this trip? Thanks

Yeah, ran into the problem myself. I finally ended up flat-towing the Bronco with the DS's disconnected. Seems the Bronco being built on a fullsize truck chassis is too wide for most two-wheel carriers and too heavy for full trailers. If you can find somone with a construction trailer that will handle the weight of a piece of heavy equipment like a backhoe or similar equipment, you should have no problem.

We've been looking and looking and looking but to no avail.
What do you mean you "flat-towed" yours? I would really hate to have to drive 2 vehicles back from Texas if I don't have to.

Thinks he means he un-bolted the driveshafts and pulled the Bronco behind another vehicle, all four wheels on the groound. Kind of like you see big campers pulling a smaller cars behind...

Try a heavy equipment yard They have large trailers for hauling backhoes and tractors. They may be able to help.

Wow, I can't believe nobody in Detroit rents car haulers. I rented a car hauler a couple of years ago to tow an old Chevy 3/4 ton 4x4, that trailer was big enough to haul just about any vehicle you'd want to tow. Found the place in the yellow pages under "Trailer Rental and Leasing", guess I lucked out having a place like that in town.
