OK i powered down my driver window today and opened the corner window also and when i went to put the window back up the window fell off track and fell into the door so i was hoping i could roll the window back up but no, so i took the panel off and looked at the window and now my motor wont go back down its stuck all the way up, like since no window was in it to stop it and went like 2 inches higher then normal and is now jammed up i tried yanking it back down but nothing, is their anyway to get the motor back down so i can put the window back on track? would this totally kill the motor cause when i hit my button the motor makes no sounds at all.
you can always try splicing the wires that go to the motor, connect those wires to the battery by using some scrap wire or something. (these scrap wires may come in handy later) the last time i dealt with my window was along time ago so i dont exactly remeber what all went on but ill tell u what i know. my window stopped working a while back and i think its bc the wiring went bad to my back window. my rear defrost wouldnt work too. try splicing the wires to the motor just to see if it works, and if it does then roll it down somewhat and do what it is u need to do. i remember having to support my window with something while i was repairing all of this, so ull probly have to do the same. good luck, if u have any questions ill thry to help as much as i can.
well by doing that if the motor does work what way will it go , up or down? i am basically looking for a way to manually crank that window motor so i can get it back on track to keep it up, right now i have it taped to stay in place.
The window motor has a worm gear drive on it and the only way to do it "manually" would be to open the gearhead and spin the worm gear by hand until the window mount moves back down. You'll be there for about a week if you try to do it this way since the window motor runs at a very high rpm and moves the window a relatively short distance the gear ratio of worm gear to helical gear is stupidly high. I'd say to remove the motor armature so the wrom gear won't be in the way but you would never get the motor back together again and would end up having to replace it as well.
