I am assuming that the pins that you want me to spray are the ones located in between the full door and the extended cab door. It is just below the door handle. I have saturated those this morning, and worked them in and out with no luck.
Spray the actual door latch mechanism on the door itself. This is a very common problem with Fords...my 97' Lincoln Mark VIII had same problem. Had to soak mine twice...then wait overnight and I haven't had a problem since.

Can you attach pictures of what a door latch switch looks like to spray WD40 on my rusty crusty 2003 Expedition?

The spray and pray method didn't work for me on our old X. It was the drivers door. I took off the door panel and got the latch out, Then took the switch out of the latch and cleaned it with contact cleaner and the amount of nastiness that came out was impressive. Never had another problem. Was not hard to do.
