spray wd-40 in the latches and jiggle them around with a screwdriver or something, it works for me.

You have to go to Ford and get a new switch its located inside the door below the door lacth mech. It's a chore replacing it. Its like a 10 dollar part.

The WD-40 tip is a good start. Instead of working the switches with a screwdriver, just open and close the door several times.

door

hey before you change that switch make sure you dont try to pry the door panel off .they dont pop off like the old trucks and you will end up braking the panel ..the clips cant be replaced . so be warned the dealer just did this to my truck . they broke the panel and had to order me a new one ...

Talking lube trick worked like a charm

I'd been having problems with my dome light not turning off for 10 minutes for the last year or so, and the doors not autolocking. I sprayed all the door latches with a liberal coating of chain wax. It stays put better than WD-40, I have the 3 door truck, so I also hit both latches on the rear door, and the tailgate and hood latches while I was at it.
Everything works smoother now, and the dome light goes off when I shut the door!!
Definitely try this fix before going through the hassle of replacing a switch that may not be bad.

I'd avoid the chain oil in that it will cause dirt to build up on it.

WD-40 is a tried and true solution. This is a VERY common problem(Check the FAQ), and everytime somebody asks about it, they get the same answer from everybody. I've rarely seen anybody come back and say it didn't work.

Wd is a solvent and dissapates over time, it just cleans the switch and allows it to work properly with a little lub in it.
