I have been looking at mods for my Ranger 1993 2.3l 4banger. I was considering a chip, but found on ebay a different option. Its a wire that you stuff in there somewhere that tricks the computer to thinking the outside air temp is like 61 degrees. Check it out.
if this is the same thing i posted about, you can get one for 29.95 all the advice i gotten here recommends not. www.revchips.com if you find a good deal let me know

Reason: removed: www.ssd4u.com has the pred or the diablo chip for $226
With a real chip you're looking at a 8-12% horsepower gain and a 10-15% torque gain. Plus it removes torque reduction from Ford's tuning, raises the speed limiter and the rev limiter, firms up the shifts and optimizes shift patterns. Any real chip isn't going to run $29.95. The $29.95 "chip" is a 10 cent resister with wiring attached that simply makes your fuel overfuel combustion.
