before anyone gets too excited, please forgive my ignorance about perf chips
i was scanning the web for chips came across several for 29.95 too good to be true i know:> reading further found that they replace intake air temp sensor
forcing to read cold air constantly.
is this beneficial?harmful? how much and how bad? thanks for any help.
If you scan this forum you'll also find people who experienced the very problems warned about: clogged catalytic converters, failed emissions and poor mileage.
This is definitely a penny-wise pound foolish purchase.
Its not a chip if it replaces the air temp sensor. It is if you have to plug it into the computer though!
you do get what you pay for...I dont know if it would do any harm but its not fully fooling the computer like the chips that plug in do...its just telling the PCM that its getting cold air and may pump more fuel in than needed. Not for sure.
