Hard to say without actually buying one and taking it apart. Some of these 'modules' contain nothing but a a resistor or two to slightly change the fuel mixture.

It may have some effect on mpg, but their claims are simply too good to be true.

yeah I read some customers reviews and a resistor is what it is. But for $10 a 2mpg gain would be worth it

I can say with 99.99% certainty that you ain't going to get that much. More like 0.2, in the best case.

Buy it, and tell us the results in a few weeks.

All those wild claims in the e-bay add is not sending your BS meter off scale? Come on now. The "theory" that modern EFI cars are running rich all the time is just plain WRONG. They would never pass smog if that were the case. All modern engines are set from the factory to run lean-of-peak except at startup and full throttle. A "chip" can be just as phony as fuel line magnets and other devices that have come along every time gas prices go up.

A catalyzer can easily smake a rich (though not overly rich) engine pass smog.

You mean slightly on the lean side? Do you have any reference to that?

A fuel line magnet can not possibly have *any* effect on mpg, while the 'chip' can. Of course, the effect can also be bad, which is the case with many gas saving devices.

Snake oil?

According to a lot of feedback on that site, it's just a resistor that tricks the engine pcm modifying the cts signal. Sounds like snake oil to me!!
