Have you pulled the codes? Not all fault codes will trigger the CEL (Check Engine Light) and that's always a good place to start. There are several ways to do it. You can take the vehicle to a parts store such as Autozone who will check it for free in the nopes that you'll buy any needed parts from them, you can buy a code scanner for about 30 bucks to check it yourself, or there are alternate methods that you can use at home that don't require the use of a scanner. One involves using an analog-type multi-meter and there's another that uses a paperclip and you count the blinks of the CEL for your codes.
Get the codes and if there are any then we can go from there.
Although, you might simply need to clean the throttle body and do a general tune-up. Plugs, cap/rotor, wires, filters. How long has it been since any/all of these were changed?
