Timing Sweet Spot

I have a 302 Installed in a 1977 F-100. Also has 670 double Pumper Carb.Performance intake. Dual Exhaust. Mustang 3 Speed. I installed a Cam with the following Specs.
Adv Dur----260-260
Dur @ .050 .212-212
Valve Lift .447-.447
Lobe Sep 110.0
Looking for the timing Sweet Spot. I have started from one end of the Spectrum to the other and still seem to get pinging upon acceleration. Any help and suggestions are appreciated.....Thanks...

Premium gas will allow you to run more timing, and reduce detonation.

10*btdc with vac advanced off would be a good starting point.

I just rebuilt my 302 with an Rv cam..it has similiar specs to yours, at first i ran it at 10 degrees...but it sounded like a diesel it pinged so much, then tried 8 degrees, still pinged. I took it down to 6, and it runs great with no pinging, my gas mileage improved as well. Check the box that your cam came in..is there a sticker on it with the specs? mine actually told me where i should set the timing
