Good luck!!!It took me over a year to find two for my project and even then I wasn`t looking at the specific time I happened across them.I`m in Ohio also, what part are you from?I have a lead on one in a boneyard in W.V. that is supposed to be nice but I haven`t seen it.Also I know a guy local that had a complete drivable `79 4 door/8 ft bed/dually for sale $1,800 but he took the sign out of the window.I`m not sure if it is still for sale.
Sfourdoor - i searched the internet for over 1.5 years and found them but way too far away from me and for too many $$$$. I happened to find one about 4 hours from me here in iowa and i bought it. They are rarer than hens teeth here in Iowa or anywhere I think. It needs lots of body work - iowa winters are not very kind to 20+ year old trucks. Good luck in your search. Welcome to FTE - i have found this to be an awesome and informative website! Enjoy.
For all you guys that have crewcabs - would be nice to keep in touch with each other and see how everyone is going on their projects or for sources for rare parts, etc. I'm doing a frame-up resto on a 1978 F250 Crew, 4x4. Just about have the frame down to bare nothing and ready to start sand blasting.
I have a 77 crew 4x4 that I will be starting on after the new year along with finishing my first obligation my 70 crew 4x4.
A crewcab progress thread might work well as there is enough of us around that would be adding progress pics and posting to keep the threat bumped to the top most of the time.

I seem to bump into one, here or there. Maybe they are not for sale, maybe they are. I will keep my eyes open. My wife would love for me to say goodbye to mine. But I think I would regret it, in the long run. I still regret getting rid of my 54' Microbus Deluxe.
I just found one in a scrap yard today. 2WD and I think it had a 8' bed. It had a wood bed on it. No engine, holes in the floorboards but the body, rockers and cab mounts all looked good. The owner wasn't there so I'll have to wait to get a price. If I can get it it will be converted to 4WD!!!!
I've got a 73 crew that was a short box 2wd. its sitting on a 88' supercab frame 4x4, 7.3L diesel, 5spd. I've got the cab mounted and the brake booster and clutch slave converted over. I'm currently working on retro-fitting the 88 guage cluster into the dash along with the wiring harness, light switch, and hopefully I'll be able to adapt the wiper motor, I really like delayed wipers. The engine is getting overhauled after the 1st of the year.
I should have mentioned that I didn't have the box, it was a flat bed the previous 8 years. I think a long bed would 2-3" to long between the rear wheel and the cab. I don't know for sure, I need to find one to measure. Unless somebody here knows that dimension??
