Reason: additional info
Are these codes from the Key On Engine Off test? If this is the case and I follow you correctly you have one code triggered during the test and a couple in continuous memory.
The 67 indicates that the vehicle was either in gear or the a/c switch was on, if neither of these are true then it indicates either a problem with the neutral drive switch or the wiring to it.
If I follow what you said correctly that single flash after the first code is a seperator between current error codes and ones that have been stored in memory while you've been driving. The 41 should only be given during the KOER portion of a test I think, but it means that the oxygen sensor always indicates lean during the fuel test. But unless you did the test with the engine running you shouldn't have gotten this code. The 63 is interesting, it indicates that the throttle position sensor has been off scale at the low end during recent operation. So I would check out your TP sensor, could be going bad. It's real easy to check out with a multimeter.
yes you are correct on the key ON engine OFF...i just put my truck in neutral..and checked again....41...63...dont know guy..but my trucks been running like crap for awile now...seems like a misfire even at idle...thats why i asked if the TPS was maybe the culprit..let me know..as im losing it
I checked another book and it does list 41 as a valid continuous memory code, says it means 'no oxygen sensor switch detected'. Maybe that means it's not powering up? As for the TPS I would definitely check it out, there is a test posted at the top of this forum in the 'Technical Info' thread under the engine heading.
According to my repair manual the symptoms of these two codes could be: runs rough, stumbles, stalls, hesitates. So I would think that some of that could feel like a misfire.
alright...went and read about the TPS...you see im getting a lean code 41..and a code 63...replaced plugs..wires..distcap...rotorbutton..fuel filter..air filter.....fuel filter brown..air filter black...MISFIRING it seems!
i posted this earlier..and everyone wanted Codes...here they are...come back?? thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
63 is TPS below min. voltage. Which means that the voltage it is sending the computer is below the acceptable range. This could mean you have a bad TPS, or there are wires disconnected. I could see this causing your lean code. If your TPS isnt working, and your giving the engine 1/2 throttle, the computer thinks its still at idle, and is putting in the amount of gas for idle, but the engine is demanding the amount of gas for 1/2 throttle. Check out your TPS, Take it off, i believe its 2 bolts on the TB. Make sure there is no physical damge to it or any of the wires on the connector. If you have a haynes manual and a voltage meter, then test it out and see how many volts it puts out at idle, half throttle, full throttle, etc (you dont need to have the engine running for this, but you need to have the key on. If you find the voltage is constantly low, it may be a bad TPS, they are about 35$ new, otherwise i'm sure you can get them for like 10$ at a junkyard. Hope this helps, good luck let us know
