On my 1980 F100, I have no dash lights, which makes it hard to drive in the rain and dark. The fuel gauge also quit working. How do I remove my Windshield wiper and light ***** in order to remove the panel. The Hayes manual says to remove the clibs right behind the *****, but I do not see them and can't figure out how to remove them.
My '83 has a tiny clip on the base of the ****. I use a tiny flat screwdriver to press the clip toward me as I gently pull the ****. Its the same for the headlight switch.
Did all the lights die at once?
Do you have a set of gauges? Do the other gauges work? (not including the batt gauge)
Fords are notorious for the fuel guage system problems. Mine has 2 tanks, and 2 bad fuel sender units in the tanks.
Your truck has a fuse for the instrument lighting. Has someone been improving your wiring?
They're usually on the underside of the *****. Look there & you'll see a small slot (1/8" or so). Shine a light into there & you'll see the clips.
If you need parts for your gauge, I have my old one still. It came out of my '84 & may not be totally compatable with your '80, but you're welcome to it. Send me a PM.

Everything in the cluster should be interchangeable except for the printed circut on the back.
