ball joint torque specs.

I have a 97 F250 crew cab 4x4 heavy duty deisel,just change the upper and lower ball joints ,can't find anywhere what the torque specs are for tighting down the nuts,slip that came with joints said on one side to tighten them to 240in. pounds on one side and on the other it said to tighten then to 150ft pounds but that spec was for 99-02 yr trucks called 2 different auto part stores they did'nt have the specs. if anybody knows it would really help me thanks

I would go with the 150 , and dont forget to put the cotter pin in, bob

150 ft. lbs. on the lower and like 70-75 on the upper.If you tighten the upper too much,it pulls the balljoints against each other and makes it almost impossible to steer.

thanks for the info,saved myself about 600. dollars doing it myself over letting a dealer installing them,it was a bear on the drivers side getting it apart,passenger side was a breeze,not as tough as job I thought it would be,again thanks for the info
