Completed installation of my DP Tuner 4 pos. chip. In one word-unbelieveable!!! I've always read post on JT's tunes, but that doesn't even come close to actually experiencing it. The thing that gets me is Jody says he's never done a PCM like mine before (CA truck), so he wanted to know how it would turn out. The truck runs sooooo unreal, it's like he's been burning these everyday!!! Took out my 5.7/10k mod and threw it in the trash. All I can say is don't waste your time with anything but a custom burn, and Jody Tipton-"you da man", aloha.
How can I tell if I have a Ca. Truck? Also I am currently running the Workhorse with a slight power improvement, will a tune by JT run alot better. I do have gauges and I have done the exhaust. The truck is a 97 F-350 4x4
Take a look at your fuel pump. If it has a damper on it, which puts the banjo bolt underneath the turbo pedestal, it's a CA truck. You can't believe how much better your truck can run with his tunes. Besides the power increase, throttle response, and shift points are greatly enhanced. Another thing I noticed is if I keep my foot out of it (kinda hard to do), my egts are actually lower than they used to be before the chip. Can't stop grinning, aloha.
Sorry, I would take pictures of it, but you wouldn't be able to see anything as the entire damper assembly sits completely under the turbo pedestal. The damper just looks like a round plate (Bosch printed on it) that sits on the banjo bolt assembly and the banjo bolt is also longer than the Fed version.
