hi all from australia just tri to id two 5 speed s i have i think they are clark
one is in a1964 f700 with a 292 in front , 2nd box was behind a 330 in a f600 casting numbers ,g-gr-ep 224716
do we have a link to clark boxs for the bigger f trucks ?
All right, truck mechanics, we need information on Clark 5-speeds, which is hard to find if you don't have the right book or literature. Were they made by the same company that made Michigan loaders, forklifts, etc.? Are they still being made? Was the truck transmission line sold off to Dana or somebody? What were the gear ratios of the various models? What's the difference between a 282 and a 282 VHD?
Those #'s you gave aren't like any Clark #'s I've seen. There should be a tag on the (drivers?) side of the box that has something like 262, 280, followed by some letters. Clark was bought by Eaton/Fuller who (I think) still makes roughly the same transmissions but they have different model #'s. Check this site
There are other Clark threads in ford-trucks.com/forums you can search through.
Thanks, 794x4390! Cool! Click the moose link. Click on the Jeep picture. Look at the Jeep topics and click onto Transmission Tables. Many transmissions are listed. Of course, there may be some ratios, etc., not mentioned.
Now for Roadranger.com: Go to the home page. Go to Products & Solutions. Go to Transmissions. Go to 5- and 6-Speed Transmissions. You get the current Eaton Fuller medium-duty 5-speed transmissions. Click the PDF Sales Literature for them. Now for Clark transmissions, go back to the home page and click Service & Sales Literature. Go to MOST DOWNLOADED DOCUMENTS. Click Mid-Range Transmission Interchange. Go back to Service & Sales Literature. Browse through other stuff that looks interesting to check out.

I drive a 1982 L800 with what I think is a 282 VHD-1 with a "short fourth." moose says fourth gear is 1.37, which makes it a "soft fourth." The Roadranger Interchange says it has a 1.17 fourth, which I think is correct.
The cool thing about the 200 series that I have found is that the 4th and 5th gears are removable from the countershaft meaning that you can swap 4th and 5th ratios within the series. It takes a little digging on the roadranger site to figure out what gear goes with what, but it can be done.
