Ive got an 87 Bronco 5.0L that I swapped the AOD out for the M5OD. Everything seemed to have worked except the truck wont start anymore. Its somthing to do with the neutral safety switch. The only plug I pulled out had wires coloured: Black with pink, pink with orange, 2 red with light blue and red with white. The manuals Ive been looking in say that one of the wires is the safety switch and goes to ground when activated. I just dont know which one and before I start making sparks I figured someone here would know somthing. Even if its how to bypass the stupid switch so I can still use my key to start it. Thanks guys.
The M5OD should have a cluth interlock switch that you can utilize to prevent inadvertent starting while in gear or the clutch engaged. It should also have a "reverse" switch to trigger the backup lights.
The BLK/PNK and PNK/ORG wires need to be connected to the REVERSE switch so your backup lights will come on. The switch doesn't care which of the two terminals you connect which wire to.
The two RED/LT.BLU wires need to be connected to the clutch interlock switch.
The RED/WHT is not used with the manual transmission since the shift control module for the transfer case doesn't need to know if the transmission is in a non-moving gear or not. Make certain you cap this wire off though since having it flop around and potentially ground out could damage the electronic shift control module.
